Among tho paasengois to Auckland by the Alameda was Mr John Jordon Warner, of the Swedish Assoctation Press Bureau, who is on his ' way round the world as the result of a wager he made with his brother journalist that he will make a tour of the w’orld without the assistance of money in any shape or form within six months. lie was working as steward on the Ahmeda, and went on to Sydney.
