Mangatainoka School Committee
The Mangatainoka school committee held their ordinary monthly meeting r * viturday evening last. Present —Meat * •V’ilea (Chairman), Kom, Pease, Polglase ' ii arrell, Cade, and Brougham. The headmaster reported number on roll 217. average attendance IQU, p««t week 178, highest attendance 180. The viaiting member reported haying visited sohool during the paat mr.nth. lie found things in good order bar the wane, oloaeta, these would have to be either emptied or cloaed, owing to their insanitary state. Several members spoke in strong terras upon the manner the Board had served them m respect to the cloaata. The local member (Mr MeCardle) came in for a fair share. It was ultimately roaolved that tenders he called for etnpting closets during Enater holidays. -a Capt. Richardsou wrote thanking the Committee for kind feelings expressed by them, and assured them he would always do hia beat to further the welfare oft scholar* by encouraging good conduct. It resolved that a vote of thanks be
sent to Mr and Mrs Mcßeth for prizes sent by them towards next year a prizes. It was resolved that Messrs C ade and Barrell be sub committee to visit the school reserve, and see what totara there is fit for use, aud to report at next meet ing. An application was received from the Waipawa returning officer for use of school for licensing sleetions to be held on the 21st inst.—Granted on msual con ditions. It was resolved that the insurance premium for the school library he paid. It was resolved that the school be closed from Tuesday, the 90th to Tuesday the 27 th, for Easter holidays, to enable them to have the closets properly attended to. It was resolved that a sub-eommiuss ronaisting of Me**n Itair.il, C»de. »nd b* appointed to e*ll under, for cleaning closets.
