(From our own Correspondents.) Eketahuna. Monday. The weather is very showery and cold here to-day. In fact it is more like winter than summer. The larrikins bad a circus all lo themselves to-day. \ well-known tradesman “exhilirated by something other than political excitement.” started larking with them, lie thought they were rather too rough so he went home and procured a weapon to use in his defence, when the larrikins made one gallant rush for shelter. When last seen the citizen was walking down the main street looking for a victim for the coroner. I hear that the milk suppliers to the creamery received their cheques last week, at which there is much rejoicing amongst the dairymen. Tuesday. M e are ba\ ing a splendid day here uguin. How long will it last? is the general enquiry. Mr Ben Richards, tonsori&l artist, has commenced business next door to EUiston’s hotel, where he intends opening a billiard saloon on Saturday next. Mr Craighead, tailor, will shortly open his new establishment near the railway station. In fact the railway end of the town is making rapid strides towards cutting out the lower end. 1 hear a watchmaker is to commence business at this end shortly.
