Cricket in Australia.
Sydney, Decemher 28. A cricket team, which will be practically a New South Wales representative second eleven, leaves for Auckland ou January 13th on a tour through New Zealand. The team has not yot been selected. Melbourne, December 28. Further evidence of the bad feeling which existed among certain members of tho Australian eleven during the English team was given to-day. At the reception tendered to the South Australian team, when George Giffcn was called upon to speak, Bannennan, who was among those present, at once rose and left the room. Received 10.50 a.m. Melbourne, This day. At a meeting of the Cricket Council Mr Cohen, manager of the team that has just returned from tho English tour, read a report in which he said the dissentions among the players were to be deplored, but as they partook of a private and personal character it was not desirable in the true interests of cricket that they should be further publicly discussed. The Council, however, carried a motion that it was under an obligation to go further into the matter, but would do so in camera. Mr Cohen and the members of the team have been asked to baud over all books in connection with tho tour to a representative of the Council, and Mr Cohen has also been asked to supply the members of the team with a financial statement of the trip. The question as to the time to lapse before another team visits England has been allowed to stand over till next year.
