I ( Na hi Kit, This Day. I lit* Agricultural and Pastoral Show i was lieltl yesterday. Merinos were not I very numerous, only two breeders e\ hihiting. Mr Douglas Merman. of Mara# ! kakaho, swept the board of all the prin j eip.il prizes. Long wools were in great force. In Lincoln the champion awards J : went to Kirkham. a ram imported bv Mr f •1. W. Williams, and ewe. bred by Sir T. Tanner. None of the South Island bred sheep in Lincolns got prizes. Mr A. Me Hardy and Mr A. McKay wen- also v*r\ successful. Leiccsters are not numerous. Mr K. I). Tanner took most of the awards with sheep of his own breeding, but the chief ewe prizes went to sheep brad by Mr W\ Grey, of Otago, and exhibited by Mr W . Nelson. Homney Marsh were great! v in evidence, and there were many ex hibitor* from Wellington. The chief awards went to a rain orod by Mr Gray, » of Wairarapa. and shown In Mr J. N. 1 Wilson, and a ewe bred by Mr A. Matthews, and also shown by Mr Williams. Messrs \V. H. Allen (Wairarapa). .1. Wheeler (Halcoinbe), K. I). Tanner and 11. Harding also were successful exnibiOre. Several prize takers were bred by Mr J. Held of Canterbury. In Shrop shires the chief awards went to the North Hritish and Hawke o Hay' Freezing Company for sheep imported from flocks / of Mr I).
