GREAT NORTHERN HURDLES. AUCKLAND. June 24. In the Great Northern Hurdle Race run at Ellerslie on June 3. Mr J. J. Corry's Landmark and Make Up finished first and second, and Messrs E. and N. Foreman's Full Mark third. A protest has now been received by the Auckland Racing Club against Mr Corry's horses be ng allowed to run in the race. A Supreme Court action was brought by Corry in regard to the ownership of Croupier, who raced in his colours last season, but in August last a partnership was registered in Croupier between Corry and John and James Paterson, of Auckland. Mr Justice Herdman found that the horse was owned by the Patersons, and 't is in consequence of this judgment that Messi's Foreman are appealing. They wish to test the eligibility of Corry's horses to take part in the Great Northern Hurdle Race in view of the Supreme Court action. The stakes have been paid out to Corry, but the Auckland Racing Club will consider the protest shortly. AVONDALE JOCKEY CLUB. AUCKLAND. June 21. The loss of £2121 is shown in the annual report and balance sheet of the Avondale Jockey Club for the year ended May 31. 1932. Wet weather adversely affected the club's spring meeting which resulted in a loss, but the club was more fortunate witn the autumn meeting, although the weathci on the second day was not aliogethei favourable. THE RACEHORSE SIMBA. SYDNEY. June 24 The former New Zealand racehorse Simba is again in the limelight. Yesterday he was presented for measurement and registration by the Associated Racing Club, after which he will race at metropolitan unregistered pony meetings.
