EX-RESIDENTS OF OTAGO
Twelve months ago an Otago Club was formed in Palmerston North, and there was a large attendance at the first annual meeting. Mr J. S. Winton (president) occupied the chair. After the secretary (Mr H. K. M'Kay) bad presented a report outlining the activities of the club during the past twelve months telegrams of good wishes were read from Mr R. S. Black (Mavor of Dunedin) and Mr James Paterson (secretary of the Otago Early Settlers’ Association). The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr R. S. Black (Mayor of Dunedin); president, Mr A. J. Graham; vicepresidents—Messrs J. S. Winton, D. E. Dredge, J. A. Colquhoun, and Dr I. Wilson; secretary, Mr 11. K. M'Kay; treasurer, Mr J. Walker; Management Committee, Mesdames Barlow, Peters, Coughlan, Walker, Dredge, Wilkinson, Colquhoun, Miss Colquhoun, Messrs Calder, Page, M'Culloch, Inglis, Davidson, Dewar, Bennison ; auditor, Mr Callis. Eulogistic references were made to the services rendered by the retirin'* officers, special tributes being paid to Mr A J. Graham and Mr J. S. Winton.
A warm welcome was extended by Mr Graham to Mr and Mrs Carruthers, Miss Egan, Mr Nicol, Mr and Mrs Bennison, and Miss Colquhoun as new members of the club.
