“ There is no doubt that potatoes will fetch a better price this year than they did last,” said a Riccarton farmer to a Christchurch Sun reporter the other day. “ There are more acres in potatoes this year than there have ever been, but the frost and the dry weather have played havoc with the crops, and the result will be that the man who hae escaped to a certain extent will reap the benefit. But everyone’s potatoes will be smaller than has been the case for some time.”
