“ The only crime that can be perpetrated against the school child is allowing him to leave school not knowing really how clever he is,”, remarked Dr J. W. MTlraith, senior inspector, Wellington, when speaking at a meeting of teachers. “We left with a sense of inferiority,” he said, “but I think that is passing away. The main aim should be to allow outpupils to leave school knowing their real capacity.’’
