Stedman (New Zealand) was defeated by J. Hawkes (Victoria) in the singles championship, (J—4, 6—4, 6 —4. Stedman and A. Willard beat R. Fotheringham and L. Schwartz, 6—2, 6—l, 6—4, in the doubles championship, and Stedmart and Miss Bellamy beat T. Robinson and Miss Anthony, 6—4, 4 —6, 6—3, in the mixed championship.
THE MIXED DOUBLES. MELBOURNE December 10. In the Mixed' Doubles Championship Crawford and Mrs Crawford beat Stedman and Miss Bellamy, 6 —3, 6— FURTHER RESULTS. MELBOURNE, December 11. Tn the Doubles Championship Hawkes and J. Willard beat Stedman and A. Willard, 6—2, 7 —5, 4 —6, B—6; Patterson and Kopman beat Crawford and Sproule, 6—3, 11—13, 6—4, 6—3. In the Singles Crawford beat Donohue, 12—-10, 6—4, 7 —5; Hopnian beat Sproule, B—6,8 —6, B—6, 6—2. CRAWFORD WINS SINGLES. MELBOURNE, December 13. The lawn tennis championships were concluded. Crawford, by defeating Hopnian, 7 —5, o—6,0 —6, 6—3, 6—4, won the Singles title. Crawford played his best game and placed shots with amazing command. In the men’s doubles Patterson and Hopnian beat Turnbull and Quist, 2—6. 7 — 5, B—6, 6 —2. In the women’s singles Mrs A. Robertson beat Miss Le Messurier, 6—2, 6—4. In the mixed doubles Crawford and Mrs Crawford beat Hopnian and Miss Hall, B—6, 6—B, 6—4.
