LEVEL CROSSING FATALITY
CHILD RUN OVER BY TRAIN. ROTORUA, October 12. A fatal accident occurred about 4 p.m, this afternoon, when Colin Paupaia Dinsdale the two and-a-half year old son of Mr Michael Dinsdale, of Te Koutu, was killed instantly by the express from Auckland. The child was apparently playing near the Te Koutu crossing and was seen to cross the line as the train approached. It then turned and attempted to recross, but was struck by the engine and thrown " clear of the line. The train was stopped and the child was brought to Rotorua and conveyed to the King George V Hospital, where Dr Thompson pronounced life to be extinct. The child’s head was crushed, and it had suffered other severe injuries.
