Air J. 11. Hall, an electrical engineer from England, who was in Timaru recently, told a Herald representative that he had been very much impressed with the electrical reticulation of the South Canterbury district. Per capita, New Zealand generally, he said, was as well, if not better, served than any other country he had been in. The necessity for safeguards where stock are driven on the roads at night is to be brought before the Director-general of Agriculture by the Alain Highways Board. The board has received complaints regarding stock on highways at night, and one county council has suggested that cattle on the move" should be i led and followed by men with warning.- 5 lights.
