GRASS LAND FARMING

AN IMPORTANT CONFERENCEPALMERSTON NORTH, August 5. No previous meeting of its kind has been so full of potentialities for grass land advancement as the conference'held at Palmerston North to-day. Representatives of the interests concerned discussed all aspects of grass farming. This important gathering will not conclude its deliberations until Friday. Mr A. 11. Cockayne, assistant Director general of Agriculture, who presided, gave an address outlining the developments that led up to the meeting, mid touched upon the objectives of the con *'erence. Papers were contributed by Mr A. W Hudson, who reviewed the fertiliser position with special reference to the problems attaching it; Mr E. Bruce Levy, who gave a review of the present and future aspects of the “strain” position; and Mr F. L. C. Scrivener, who dealt with the line of research at Massey Agricultural College.
