According to private advices, Mr Lance Fairfax, who was in Dunedin in “ The Desert Song,” has been apearing at Bournemouth Pavilion with Sir Dan Godfrey’s Municipal Orchestra, and has achieved so much success in his first season that the engagement has been renewed for a further term. Bournemouth, the famous Hampshire watering-place, has gained a national reputation for its music under the guidance of Sir Dan Godfrey, who founded this orchestra in 1893, and in the following year established his celebrated symphony concerts, at which distinguished artists appear from time to time.
