Substantial reductions are announced in the tariffs at leading Auckland and Rotorna hotels. The step has been taken in response to the demand for cheaper living costs (remarks the New Zealand Herald). The tariff at the Grand Hotel, Auckland, has been reduced from a minimum of 25s a day to 20s, and at the Hotel Cargen the tariff is now 15s instead of 20s.
