A shipment of motor ears from Canada was landed at Wellington yesterday ex the Canadian Highlander, the first shipment to be received under the new duty tariff, and as an indication of what the tariff means the Customs duty cheque for oue make of car alone amounts to over £9OOO, being just double the amount that would have been payable under the old tariff.
