Hawke’s Bay presents a delightful picture at present (says a northern exchange). Fruit trees are in bloom and the willow trees are a mass of beautiful green. Residents say that the winter has been very dry and unusually cold, evidence of which is seen in the lack of grass in parts. . Nevertheless, sheep and cattle generally look well, and lambs are plentiful. A few heavy showers, the farmers say, would do an immense amount of good.
