SUPREME COURT.
PRISONERS SENTENCED. AUCKLAND, August 5-. Prisoners were sentenced by Mr Justice Smith as follows:— George M’Kenna, for demanding money by menaces, theft, and assault, three years imprisonment with hard labour; Joseph Baxter (aged 55), indecent assault on a male, three months’ imprisonment; Rangi Harawana, robbing with violence, five years, with hard labour; William Thomas, a similar offence, four years, with hard labour; Thomas James Gibson, aged 19, theft of horses,■'two years in the Borstal; Albert Joseph Vance Ryan, stealing and uttering a cheque, two years’ imprisonment. PRISONERS SENTENCED. WELLINGTON, August 8. The following prisoners were sentenced: —Edward William Roderique, two charges of attempted indecent assault on a male, 12 months’ reformative detention on each charge (concurrent) ; Clarence Edward Ducker, breaking and entering and theft, and breaking and entering with intent to* commit a crime, Borstal detention not exceeding three years. John William M'Clure was sentenced to five years, with hard labour, on 12 charges of breaking and entering, and theft, two of breaking and entering with intent, and two of attempted breaking and entering with intent. He was also declared an habitual criminal.
