TIMARU HIGH SCHOOLS.

GOLDEN JUBILEE. TIMARU, April 21. Several hundred ex-pupils of the Timaru boys’ and girls’ high schools have assembled at Timaru to celebrate the golden jubilee of the schools. The proceedings throughout have been marked by the greatest enthusiasm, and fortunately, for the most part, splendid weather has been experienced. The programme was commenced on Saturday with reunions of the old boys and girls, and yesterday there was a big jubilee service, which was attended by over 1500 past and present pupils, and was held in the boys’ school. The official ceremony and roll calls were held this morning at the girls’ school, where there were thousands present. The afternoon programme was unfortunately abandoned owing to rain.
