A few years ago the first woman inspector of schools was appointed in New Zealand, since when Miss Hetherington has reigned in solitary glory. Now (comments the Auckland Star) the Minister is reported as saying that it is “ intended to appoint women inspector of schools.” Miss Hetherington is in the secondary department. anil it has yet to be learnt ■whether Mr Atmore m<*ns to add another to that department, or to appoint women for primary work.
