BRITISH EMPIRE PRODUCERS.

FOODSTUFFS COMMITTEE FORMED (From Ocr Own Correspondent.) LONDON, December 5. The council of the British Empire Producers’ Organisation, of which Lord Melchett is chairman, appointed, at their meeting on December 3, a special producers’ committee, under the chairmanship of Sir Edward Davson, with subsidiary committees for each industry represented. The committee will frame a statement in regard to the primary production of foodstuffs and certain other agricultural products in the Empire overseas, to form the basis of representations to be made to the Government and the Imperial Conference. Sir Edward Davson was also appointed deputy-chairman of the council, while the following vice-presidents were appointed: Viscount Hampden, the Hon. Sir George W. Fuller, the Hon. W. Leitch, and Viscount Elibank. Mr V. A. Malcolmson. formerly deputy-chairman, agreed to retain the office of honorary treasurer.
