The Simmonds Spartan Hermes aeroplane, which is at present on view at the Wanaka Motor Company's garage, was imported by New Zealand Airways, Ltd., on Jichalf of the Otago Aero Club, but it is not yet definitely known whether the club will take over proprietorship of the machine. It has been assembled and rigged in Dunedin, this work having been done under the direction of Mr A. C. Wills, and duly approved. The machine, which is a three-seater with dual controls. has been specially designed for use in flying schools and clulis. Right from before the Neolithic Age woman has aped man. first in dress, then in habit; and man has been fool enough to let her (says the Taranaki Herald). But when she conies to stealing one of his pet New Year diversions it is high time to draw a definite line. One night recently a party of eight or nine young women (not so young as not to know better) were seen in the East End at New Plymouth enjoying the manly game of lifting gates off their fastenings and dumping them in various positions and places, calculated to cause the ownws immense annoyance and the players of the game endless amusement (as was apparent). The young women's tricks were accompanied by loud laughter. 'They were having great fun. So were those who were watching them.
