Aviation appears to be popular in Southland judging by the liberal patronage accorded the Hamilton Airways plane, which has been making almost continuous short flights over the town for the past five days (says the Southland Daily News). It is stated that Captain M‘Gregor’s plane made over 50 such trips in one day, and it is interesting to note that the majority of the passengers were young country residents. It is in a sense “a feather in Southland’s cap ” that it has been not only possible, but a pleasure, to fly from early morning till sunset on four consecutive days. Nowhere could the con ditions have been more favourable. Captain M’Gregor will remain in Southland for some time and make a tour of the country districts.
