The policy of the Government in regard to finance for State Advances for settlers and workers’ dwellings, has apparently given a welcome impetus to the timber industry, especially on the west coast of the North Island, where there has been a decided ■ increase in production of late (says the Dominion). The prospect of speeding up the advances and in consequence the building • of dwellings, has helped to revive.an industry which has been in low. water .for some time past.
