WAIROA, February 20.

The Minister of Lands (Mr G. W. Forbes), accompanied by Mr Thompson (Under-secretary) and Messrs Thomson and Farnie (Commissioner of Crown Lands for Napier and Gisborne respectively), arrived at Wairoa last evening, and received numerous deputations, mostly concerning the urgent need for closer settlement in the district.
