In connection with certain statements which have been made concerning the number of rejects at the medical examination of territorials, when 40 per cent, of the trainees were turned down, it is stated that the examination was extremely severe, as compared with former years (say? a northern exchange) ._ It is asserted that the fitness of trainees has shown considerable improvement of late and that our young men are growing up in a condition iff military fitness that is quite pleasing.
