There will be a plentiful supply of hams for this Christmas, a pork butcher told a Christchurch Sun reporter late last week. The ruling retail price is Is 4d a lb for hams of medium size. The butcher said that he began to receive orders for Christnias hams four months ago. “ People come in early and pay 2s 6d deposit in order to make sure of getting a ham to suit them,” he said.
