MATCHES POSTPONED. Owing to the conditions that prevaileij on Saturday it was found necessary to postpone the B Grade competition. NEW ZEALAND TOURNAMENT. The entry forms for the, thirty-ninth annual New Zealand championship meeting are now in circulation. The national titles are to be contested on the Auckland Association’s courts at Stanley street during December 26, 27, 28, 29, and 31, and following days if necessary. The following events are on the programme:—■ Men’s Singles, Ladies’ Singles, Men’s Doubles, Ladies’ Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Boys’ Singles, Girls’ Singles, Boys’ Doubles, Girls’ Doubles, and Junior Mixed Doubles, as well as the New Zealand Plate Singles, which is open to players who have been defeated in the first or second rounds of the Men’s Singles Championship. Entries close on Friday, December 14. In events 1 to 5 inclusive on the programme the draw will be “ seeded ” by the Management Committee. In junior events 6 to 10 inclusive no contest will be held in any event for which the minimum entry is not received. The minimum entries shall be: For Boys’ and Girls’ Singles, not fewer than eight in each; for Boys and Girls’ Doubles, and Junior Mixed Doubles, not fewer than four pairs in each event. MATCHES IN AUSTRALIA. BRILLIANT DOUBLES GAMES. MELBOURNE, December 2. In the interstate lawn tennis match, New South Wales scored a narrow win over Victoria ty 11 rubbers to 10. A feature of the day was the form shown - by Hassett and Schlesinger, who beat Crawford and Hopman ami Dunlop and Donahoe in brilliant doubles games, both in straight sets.
