WEATHER SUMMARY.

MONTH OF NOVEMBER. VERY LIGHT RAINFALL. A light rainfall was recorded in Dun edin during the month of November. The total fall was 1.25 inches—over three inches and a-half less than the fall recorded for October. Rain fell on only eight days during the past month, as compared with 24 days of rain for the previous month. The fall was the lightest recorded for November since 1924, when the fall was 1.22 in. Altogether the conditions were very seasonable throughout the past month. The instruments at the Musselburgh pumping station registered only one heavy fall of rain. This was on ember 12, when nearly three-Quar* ters of an inch of rain fell. The only other fall of any consequence was on November 28, when the pumping station instruments registered less than a quarter of an inch of rain. The falls were widely spaced, there being long periods of bright, sunny days, the longest fine period bein'' between November 12 and 24. The most unpleasant part of the month was between November 25 and 29. The prevailing winds were mostly from the northeast and north-west. NOVEMBER TEMPERATURES. High temperatures were recorded durI'JK tbe past mouth. The conditions generally were pleasant, only three or four cold days being experienced. 'J he majority of the days were notable for summer warmth. The average daily maximum thermometer readings were between 60 and 68 degrees. 'These readings show that the atmosphere throughout the month was about eight degrees warmer than October. On 16 days the temperature was above 60 degrees'. The highest temperature was on November 20, when 76 degrees were registered—five degrees more than the highest temperature recorded for October. On November 19 the thermometer rose to 73 degress, to 70 degrees on November 9, and 69 degrees on November 5. The temperature was between 60 and 68 degrees on 14 days, and between 51 and 58 degrees on nine days. The lowest maximum readings were on November 1 and 11, when the mercury was at the 48 degrees mark. The lowest minimum readings were on November 11 and 12, when the mercury showed 35 degrees. On November 1 the minimum reading was 39 degrees, and 37 degrees were recorded on November 22. The highest minimum reading was 52 degrees, on November 8, and the second highest 50 degrees, recorded on November 19. The coldest day of the month was November 11, the readings on that date being 35 and 48 degrees, minimum and maximum respectively. The temperature was fairly warm towards the end of the month, being as high as 62 degrees on November 28.

The barometer readings were variable throughout the month. On November 1 the barometer was as high as 30.02, but the readings were very low during the next 10 days. 1' rom 29.84 on the evening of November 2, the barometer fell to 29.20 on the Rooming of November 5. There was a steady rise during the next two days, the reading on the morning of November 7 being 29.70. The readings during the next four days varied between 29.35 and 29.67. There was a noticeable rise on November 12, the reading on that date being 30.06. The barometer rose to 30.21 on the evening of November 14, and to 30.22 the following day. The latter was the highest read" ing recorded during the month. High readings were recorded between November 15 and. 19, but the barometer fell steadily during the next days. From 30.16 on November 18 it fell to 29.49 on November 21. The next day there was a rapid rise of 22 points, but a fall of several points was recorded on November 23. There was a further rise of 31 points during the next 24 hours 29.99 being registered on the evening of November 24. The barometer rose to 30.05 on November 25, but fell rapidly again thereafter. The reading on the evening of November 28 was 29.53 —a fall of 52 points in three days. The barometer showed a rising tendency at the end of the month.
