The Awatere Countv Council’s £IO,OCX loan proposal for the Dashwood deviation was carried by a large majority. The work is estimated to cost £45,000, the Highways Board contributing £30,000 and the Marlborough County Council £5OOO. The deviation will lessen the distance from Blenheim to Seddon, which is a. section of the Picton-Ghristclnjrcli highway, by four and a-half miles.
