NO I. “We get plenty of fun and adventure out of life,” said Teddy one day, . but we don’t seem to be mir-h use.” “ Quite right,” agreed Golly. “ Speaking for myself, it had occurred to me that you re a pretty useless sort of chap!” , joking apart,” replied, his chum, “ I think we ought to join the Boy Scouts. I reckon that idea of doing at least one good deed a day is great!” “So do I,” said Golly. “ Why, here’s a Scout coming along the road —let s ask him how we go on about joining.” The Scout was only too pleased to gain two new recruits. “You really ought to start off as Cubs,” he told them, “but as you are so famous perhaps I can arrange with our Scoutmaster to enrol you as two full-blown Scouts.” He expounded to them the Scout law and explained the mottoes, “ Be Prepared ” and “ Do a Good Deed Every Day.” There was some difficulty in fixing them up in uniforms, but at last they started off fully equipped and determined to be a credit to the gr at movement. “ By Jove!” said Golly, “ won’t the nation be delighted when it is known we’ve joined up?” (To be Continued.)
