Mr I' red Lascelles, an employee of Collett and Son’s new foundry at Mangatera, near Dannevirke, had an unenviable experience (reports an exchange). While on a ladder engaged in erecting machinery the . ladder slipped and he was thrown on to some overhead shafting. His clothing caught, and he was whirled round twice before his apparel gave way and released him. He was knocked unconscious, but subsequent examination by a doctor disclosed that no bones had been broken and that his injuries consisted of several bruises. Hie clothing v.as torn to ribbons.
