OTAGO LAND BOARD.

A meeting of -the Otago Land Board was held on Thursday, and was attended by Messrs J. Macdonald (chairman), James Smith, T. A. Munro, G. J. Inder, G. Livingstone. LAST CHANCE IRRIGATION BLOCK. The -board was asked to classify the recently surveyed in the above block in Fraser and Cairnhill survey districts. —The land to be classified as third class. The commissioner advised that the survey had now been completed of the sections in the Last Chance block. The board was asked to consider the disposal of the areas applied for by Messrs L. H. Denniston and V. A. Fenwick.—Resolved to grant renewable lease tenure at capital values of £6OO and £3OO respectively, subject to the payment in cash of the valuation of the improvements and to any existing mining rights; subject also to a special condition providing for the boundary fencing between sections 115. block I, and 16. block 11. Fraser survey district, to be on the mutual boundary fixed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands. MACETOWN COMMONAGE. 1 he board was asked to rescind the resolution of April 14, 1926, granting J. T. M’lntyre a righ to occupy the above area, as he had failed to reply to correspondence or to make the required payments.—Resolution rescinded. GLADBROOK AND POPLAR GROVE SETTLEMENTS. J. R. Watson, secretary of the Middlemarch Soldiers’ Association, wrote on behalf of the soldier settlers on Gladbrook and Poplar Grove settlements, applying for revaluation and reduction of rentals of their holdings.—Resolved to refer the matter to the Dominion Revaluation Board.
