RETURNED SOLDIERS’ ASSOCIATION.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association was held on Tuesday evening, the president (Mr H. L. Paterson) being in the chair. Two new members and one honorary member were elected,, and one outward transfer was approved, while one death was recorded. A letter was received from the secretary of the Otago Early Settlers’ Association advising that his association had granted, the Returned Soldiers’ Association its request to have the Turkish pontoon placed on the Early Settlers’ ground in the vicinity of the engine Josephine.—• Received. The Social Committee reported that all invitations for the coming “at home ’\ had been issued. The programme to be presented on that evening was outlined.— The report was adopted. As the result of the Poppy Day activities, the sum of £920 17s 5d was in hand. Sums had been granted to the following local bodies: —Dunedin City Council, £450; Mosgiel Borough Council, £2O; Milton Borough Council, £2O; Ravensbourne Amenities Society, £lO. The chairman reported on the recent reunion at Milton, and said that four members of the association had attended. The reunion was one of the best of ita kind at which they had been present.
