An enterprising New. Plymouth resident recently heard there was money in supplying the Christchurch market with pungas, so he arranged to cut and send down a supply to Canterbury (says a northern exchange). The price they brought was 5s each, and the cost turned out to.be ss-6d. The labour, of cutting and^ transferring to the railway amounted to 2s; transportation accounted for the balance.
