THE FURNITURE TRADE.

INDENTURE TO BOTH BRANCHES. AUCKLAND, May 15. It- is net competent in the furnittire trade to indenture an apprentice to two branches of the trade, whether the quota of emplovees is full in each or otherwise, according to the judgment of Mr Justice Frazer, who was asked at the last session of the Arbitration Court to determine the matter. Each branch of the trade stands by itself. This, however, does not conflict with the general rule that an apprentice may; in learning his own special branch of the trade, be taught such operations of another branch or branches as may be necessary for his proper instruction in his own branch; but not further or otherwise. Such circumstances do not constitute ar apprenticeship to the other branch or branches. . ■ -
