London newspapers announce that Mr S. Chaplin, son of Mr W. T. Chaplin, of Hastings, who is studying architecture in London, is one of the finalists for the Rome Scholarship in Architecture for 1928. For his work on the Soane medallion he has been granted exemption from testimonies for the R.L.B.A. examination. The tests for the Rome Scholarship are prolonged, so that the results will not be known for several months.
