A stamped envelope carried by de Pinedo from Newfoundland to Rome in May last year was sold in London a few weeks ago for £2l. Twenty-five stamps issued immediately after the British occupation of Mesopotamia were sold for £l2O. Two stamps signalising the British occupation of Bagdad brought £6O, the interesting feature in them being the omission of the word “occupation."
