DR EWEN APPOINTED SUPERINTENDENT. WELLINGTON. May 3. A special meeting of the Wellington Hospital Board was held tins afternoon to consider the applications received for the position of medical superintendent. Mr C. M. Luke presided. Twenty seven applications were received —one from England, several from Australia, and the remainder from medical practitioners within the Dominion. The appointment carries with it a commencing salary of £1250, with free house, fuel, and lighting. it was announced that Dr H. B. at present registrar of the. Wellington Hospital, had been appointed as medical superintendent, subject to the approval of the Health Department,
