“ Can any lady present play ‘ God Save the King’ without music?” This was a question asked at the opening of a meeting held in Auckland the other evening (reports the Star). There was no response. The chairman was a man of action. He softly tried an opening note, and then in a vigorous bass voice began tp . lead the way. The sopranos sang brightly, a few tenors assisted them when the high notes were struck, with a result that a very creditable rendering of tin National Anthem was given.
