THEFT OF DIAMOND RING.
TAXI DRIVER PLEADS GUILTY. WELLINGTON, April 26. The theft of a diamond ring v-alued at £750 from Jenness and Partridge, jewellers, by Trevor Leonard Richard Cunningham, aged -28, a taxi driver, .was related in the court to-day. Evidence ivas given -that hocused went to complainant’s shop, where he stated that his name was Lowry, a racehorse owner.' I_■ w\.,-> ■ ■ which he took to the door, presumably to get a better view of it, and then ran away '.with it. The accused was seen later In "the afternoon by Detective Jarrold: showing the ring to someone m a bar. - When the accused saw the detective he put the ring down one of his socks. He pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence to the Supreme Court. ■
