THE C. A. LARSEN.
PATCHING WORK PROGRESSING. The work of refloating and patching _ >; lias been progressing apace on the whab. ■ > ing vessel C. A. Larsen, and it should not be rqany days before.the task is completed (says the Stewart Island correspondent of the Southland Times). The ship is now floating well upon the water, and everything points to her being able to > sail for Port Chalmers, at an early date. Workmen residing on Stewart Island are still employed on the -vessel, and are working long hours' to repair the distressed ship as soon as possible. The oil tanker which has come through Panama is now due at the island to relieve the Larsen of her load, and the - latter vessel will sail for the dock at Port Chalmers after this is accomplished. There are still two holes to be patched and repaired, but as soon as the oil is discharged the officers will know for certain when the ship will be able to sail. It is hoped to make a start about the first or second week in April, although the Easter holidays may postpone the embarkation.
