That Southland is not being altogether ignored in northern parts is vouched for by the fact that the secretary of tho league (Mr J. S. (Auckland), asking for information regarding the province likely to be of use to tourists and also particulars as to sport, fishing, etc., for inclusion in a “ Compendum of Travel ” for the information of overseas visitors. The second comes from the manager of a Wanganui firm, an ex-Southland resident, who has. been asked to give an address on Southland to* his club. “ This.” Jie -.says, “will be an opportunity to do a little quiet advertising about a place of which far tod little is known.” ■
