lister plough. The plough sliare here curves upwardly and rearwardly terminating in a shield portion which coincides with the edges of the discs, but does not overlap them. This reduces earth friction to a minimum.
The discs are mounted on a U-shaped bracket on the plough standard. Th.ey are adjustable vertically and laterally. Covering discs are also provided. WEEDER ATTACHMENT FOR HARROWS. A transverse bar carries the weede.r teeth, which are set at an angle so that they will clear themselves of weeds. The
bar is connected to the harrow by hanger hooks, and also by a pivoted link, which is operated by a hand lever to raise th® weeder. ORCHARD LADDER. This ladder consists of a single pole with a movable step on each side. One step is supported by two yokes connected by a bar. The other step has one yoke.
These yokes fit loosely on the pole, and when weight is placed on them they bind on the pole. The climber moves them up the pole bv lifting on the stippup of each alternately.
GATE. This gate rests on brackets extending inwardly from the gate posts. Crank arms are mounted in bearings on the posts, and their outer ends have counterweights attached. Chains from the gates°are at-
tached to the crank arms. If an auto is driven against the tread plates on the gate, the gate will swing downwardly before it, and after the auto has passed it will bs swung upwards again. ROPE FASTENING DEVICE. This simple clamping plate is used to securely connect two rope ends, and yet
permit easy release. Tim diagram shows one hitch, but others may be easily arranged. POWER FORK. The diagram is an end view of this fork. It comprises two oblong frames hinged to the central member, in which frame the tines are set. Tension on the
cables attached to the outside of tha frames opens the fork, while tension applied to the cable, which passes over tha two arms, closes it*
