Earwigs appear each year to be on the increase in Waipukurau (states the Daily. Telegraph). They are again very plentiful this season.
The new method of seine fishing adopted by several deep-sea fishermen is proving fairly profitable (says the Timaru Herald), good catches of groper being reported. The supply of fish is quite up to the demand, flats being in fairly plentiful supply.
