Our photograph shows the bow of the U.S.S. Saratoga, resembling an odd face. The Saratoga is the world’s largest and fastest airplane carrier, built at a cost of £7,000,000. It is 888 feet long, displaces 33,000 tons, will have a crew of 2000 officers and men, and can travel at a rate of 40 miles an hour. This picture shows the ship being fastened at dry dock, where the final touches will be made before it goes into active service.
