Permission for the wearing of the “Coney Island” bathing suit will be given to bathers at Takapuna and Milford Beaches, according to the recommendation of the inspector, adopted at a meeting of the Takapuna Borough Council. Th. suit in question is two-piece, the top half being white and the lower part of dark colour. The style was very popular last year. A Taurdn'ga' tradesman informed the Opotiki Herald,’that lie had a verv '‘nteresting experience a few days ago. ' A certain person owed him, a small account for a considerable time, and he sent a polite request for a settlement. Next day the person came into the shop, called him everything but a gentleman, and wound vp by inviting him out to the backyard *to Bottle it. He did not go—but he got his money. ,
