POWER FOR WAIPORI.
RECOMMENDATIONS TO CITY COUNCIL. At the next meeting of the City Council the Electric Power and Lighting Committee will report that the city engineer has now received instructions to complete with all possible despatch the plans of the Lake Mahinerangi dam, in order that the same may be submitted to the Public Works Department for approval with the least possible delay. A report by the city engineer indicating the arrangements to be made for the carrying out of thewhole work will be laid on the table. The tenders for the SOOOkw. unit, for which preparations arc now being made for installation at the power station, are now in hand, and will be reported on to council at the earliest possible date.
