A successful voyage of over 400 miles, from To Kopuru, Kaipara Harbour, to Auckland, with three barges in tow, stands to the credit of the launch Lady Eva (Captain G. Carey). Favourable weather was experienced after leaving Kaipara on Tuesday of last week, but on Wednesday, off Reef Point, a fresh north-west wind and rough seas were encountered. The same evening the wind increased in force, and for a time the best the launch could do was only one knot. Good weather was experienced round the North Cape, and down the east coast to the Poor Knights, where strong north-east winds were encountered. Although the crew of the launch were at times anxious for the safety of their craft (says the Auckland Star)', the trip was accomplished without mishap of any kind.
