Rose Shaw and Ellis Marjorie Rogers, one of the accused having six children and the other three children, were caught in the act of shoplifting in an Auckland drapery store. Each was fined £l6 on Saturday _ last. Ethel Constance Hastie. married, aged 28, who was caught by a detective extracting half a crown form a student’s purse at the university, was fined £4, or 14 days’ imprison ment.
